Oceana New York Gala

Our Sapphire Honorary Chair Susan Rockefeller and her husband David both sit on the board of Oceana, the world’s largest international advocacy organisation focused solely on ocean conservation. This year marks a special occasion, it is Oceana’s 20th anniversary of winning victories for the oceans.

Every year, Susan and David host the iconic Oceana New York Gala. It is a gathering of leaders in the worlds of philanthropy, business, and entertainment to celebrate and support Oceana’s mission of restoring the health and abundance of the ocean.

Since Oceana’s founding in 2001, it has become the largest international ocean conservation organisation. The science-based, goal-oriented approach has resulted in more than 225 victories that prevent pollution, protect marine life, safeguard underwater habitats, and strengthen fisheries. Because the oceans cover 71% of our planet, a healthy ocean is an important part of the solution to some of the world’s most pressing issues – from climate change to food insecurity.
